Buttons in a Mustard Jar

Image
I recently found this jar of buttons at a church yard sale. The little jar was filled to the top with a variety of buttons. I dumped them out on a plate to see what was inside. There were many different buttons. You gotta love these yard sale finds!  Thanks for Looking!

i have seen buttons like this in a "marcasite" colourway but not in a goldtone before , they are glass and they have a 4-way brass shank *** these are unusual too they are glass with a faux printed silk effect to the centres , the rim and colour remind me of victorian jet mourning buttons but the floral pattern makes me think 1950's these also have the 4-way brass shanks Please can you help identifying the age of these buttons? Any help greatly appreciated :0) x vInTaGe VioLeT x

Easter Bouquet

Image
I decided to part with some of my treasured vintage buttons and make an Easter bouquet for my son's teacher. He and I had so much fun making the flowers! He even made a few flowers for himself! The best part is that his teacher LOVED the bouquet. A few of the moms loved it too - looks like I may be hosting a workshop soon! B.Y.O.B. (bring your own buttons) Happy Easter!! xoxo Julie - CupcakeDD

Glitz and sparkle!

My favorite old buttons are the ones with rhinestones. I was excited to find this wonderful assortment recently. One little button can inspire a whole new creation, like the ones I used on this vintage looking Snowfolk I finished recently: My favorite color of button? PINK, of course! Nancy Lee

One of My Favorite Buttons

Image
This isn't the prettiest button I've ever owned, but it one of my favorites. I used to collect vintage WWII Home Front items- like the red white & blue trimmed frames that families used for their sons and boyfriends military pictures, the "son in the service" star flags that families put in their windows, and sweetheart jewelry. This button is "V" for Victory and made of Bakelite.
