I'm Fran from the Highlands of Scotland, and I love buttons!
I have been making clothes for over 20 years and have collected buttons from all over the world to use on my work. I have spent many happy holidays hunting down button shops, or trawling street markets for buttons, old and new.
I used to make buttons out of polymer clay, but was never happy with the results, they always looked a bit wonky. I suppose thay had a certain charm, but it was not worth the blistered palms they caused.
I now make buttons out of resin, which I absolutely love doing and I am happy with the results.
The photos are of my handmade buttons.
This is my first foray into the blogosphere, couldn't really see the attraction, until I found "Button Floozies" and thought, "ah, now i see the point!"
I look forward to keeping up with my fellow button enthusiasts posts, and hope that you will be interested to see mine.

kudzu, my partner steve makes the moulds, he has been working with resin for a long time, and has lots of self taught knowledge.
i draw a shape, and he carves it out of plastic, then makes a mould out of silicone rubber.i decorate the moulds, then he does the messy, smelly bit, pouring the resin. then i grind and polish the edges. it's a combination of both our skills.
I love making them, and every morning when I wake up, the first thing I think is, " I wonder how yesterdays buttons turned out?" and I jump out of bed and go and empty the moulds.Great!
