To read full post, click on title and pictures! I'd love to hear your take on this. I'm currently in the middle of making some more. Just have to get the hot glue gun back out. Will update when finished! EDITED TO ADD: The backing I use is actually acrylic felt!

A new take on the button bracelet!

Image
I found these leather bracelets recently and thought how nice it would be to dress them up a little. I came up with these: I stitched some satin ribbon to the leather then added some ruffled lace and some buttons. I love coming up with new ideas for using what would otherwise be discarded or hidden away in a drawer. Have a good weekend all you fellow button lovers!

Vintage Easter Greetings ~ Button Style!

Image
Vintage Happy Easter Greetings!! Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter. I hope your day if filled with family, friends, fun and food..... ...And may the food on your table be so good, that someone pops a button or two and they end up in your button stash!

TEXTURES

Image
I've been going through a jar of my mother's buttons. The textures of these buttons are fun. Some are smooth, others have grooves or curliques, while a few of them are rough or have broken edges. These buttons have character, they have histories. I wish they could talk.

Easter Bouquet

Image
I decided to part with some of my treasured vintage buttons and make an Easter bouquet for my son's teacher. He and I had so much fun making the flowers! He even made a few flowers for himself! The best part is that his teacher LOVED the bouquet. A few of the moms loved it too - looks like I may be hosting a workshop soon! B.Y.O.B. (bring your own buttons) Happy Easter!! xoxo Julie - CupcakeDD

Hello everyone, I just wanted to show you my Button Heart that I've made. I love to play with buttons & a recent button workshop taught me this new way of using up some of my vintage button stash. I hope you like it! I've also been a busy girl making some more fabric buttons to sell in my shops on Folksy & Coriandr. I'm hoping to list some vintage buttons/supplies on there too. Please feel free to visit my blog by clicking on the title of this post. Have a lovely Easter to you all Mollimoo x

BUTTONS AT GEORGETOWN ANTIQUE MALL

Image
I have found the most wonderful button booth in Georgetown, KY at the Georgetown Antique Mall. I have not met Lisa but I know she is a kindred spirit. The antique mall has 3 floors and an annex filled with such pleasure. So many small things, delicate laces, sparkly jewelry, dolls, buttons, lovely buttons. They also have furniture, dishes, just everything. Vintage baby dresses, silverware. The annex has books! JoAnn and Jessi are delightful as well as helpful. I always enjoy talking to them. They let me use their bathroom so they have my heart. Back to the booth, SEW WHAT. It is such a fun spot. I want everything there. My apologies to Lisa for dumping everything out of the little blue wooden bowl, I had to buy it because I couldn't carry all the things I bought down the stairs. I love the little bowl, it is happy in my house. Lisa, your buttons have found a good home.
