Button Floozies

Partnering has happened for the White Christmas Button Book swap and emails went out yesterday to all who signed up; if there were any glitches and you didn't receive yours, please let me know ASAP! Meanwhile...look at the vintage notions I picked up at the last estate sale I visited -- there didn't seem to be any real treasures in the button bags but I had to get them anyway, just for the thrill of the hunt!

Last year I wrote a little flash fiction Halloween story based on a button.  The button itself was from Celia Barbieri, aka The Button Florist, in Asheville, NC. I received the loveliest, most precious buttons the other day from my blogging friend, Betsy !  She LOVES buttons, too!  She's the one who made these fabulous button bird earrings that I wear often, and love!  She sells them and many other fabulous things in markets, and in her Etsy shop .  She sent me the buttons as a surprise along with this FABULOUS necklace that I won from her blog giveaway!  You can read about it here .  She also included a scrabble tile charm with my initial on it.  These are the kinds of buttons that make me literally swoon -- and wonder how she can bear to part with them!  Look at that little shoe!  It is DOUBLE sided!  Betsy is as generous as she is talented.  The silver toned one has a shell inset.  The small black and gold one is glass.  And the one near the bottom left is celluloid. I just never get tired of going through my buttons drawers and jars. These are not real special buttons I just like the color and texture. Thought I would share a few pictures on the rainy day. The picture is not particularly artistic or memorable.  But it is an act of friendship.  A friend needed some vintage buttons to finish a stitchery.  I sorted through my buttons and found these.  She said they were perfect for her project. 

Just wanted to share some of my vintage buttons I've been adding to some fabric cuffs recently. Most of these were given to me from various family and friends who know I love buttons-vintage especially! a sparkly rhinestone button plastic and glass metal buttons I'm not sure how old these are.Any ideas? I'm using them both as 'closures', and as decorations : ) the top one will be added to my shop soon, and the bottom one has been sold already (thank you : ) ~ you can read more about them on my blog.
