Oooo!! I think it's VINTAGE BUTTON CARD SWAP time!!

Image
Button Card Image from InspireCompany.Com Hi Floozies! We have some new members in the pipeline as well as quite a few followers! I think that the summer heat is getting to me! I'm gonna work on the plans over the next few day to host a VINTAGE BUTTON CARD Swap. Doesn't that sound fun??? I was browsing through my Country Living, and they had sewing notions listed as one of 'the' things to collect this year. Uh?? Haven't we been collecting them for years? Hoarding them? sorting them? Not daring to cut the strings that hold the antique/vintage buttons down? (or the metal pieces) Whoever thought of using pieces of metal to hold down buttons? Really, I have to ask. They are the most annoying thing to undo off a button. Anyways.. sorry about the rant. :) If you don't have any buttons on their original cards how about creating one, or some.. with buttons, the more the merrier! We are all very crafty ladies, if I do say so myself, and I'd love to see what we can ...

Well, finally, I feel that I am making an honest floozy of myself! I took part in a 14 Secrets ATC swap. On one of my offerings called "Good Day Sunshine" I used buttons!!!! I thought the flower button matched the lady's "hat" perfectly! Now I feel like a real floozy! I like that feeling...so, off I go to search my button box for another swap!

Buttons-n-Dollars: Helping breast cancer patients

Image
Hello, Button Floozies! If your boxes and jars are overflowing with button goodness, you can use them to help breast cancer patients. My good friend Hayley , breast cancer survivor extraordinaire, recently met a woman named Heidi Marble, an eight-year survivor of inflammatory breast cancer. Heidi has established a registered charity called Buttons-n-Dollars to raise money to help under- and uninsured breast cancer patients with their treatment. Using donated buttons and costume jewellery, she turns broken mannequins into works of art, which she then sells or leases. If you have costume jewellery or buttons to spare, please consider sending them to Heidi to help her continue her great work. Look at it this way: If you send some of your buttons to Heidi, you'll be making room in your stash for more! To learn more about Heidi, her book Waiting for Wings , and her art and to find out how you can help, visit her Undone website. Her shipping address is Heidi Marble Buttons-N-Dollars 2...
