Button card art for Christmas!

Image
Here's a simple little project that takes just a few minutes, using vintage plastic buttons: The button card "base" was from a scrapbook page of reproductions of old ones, but you can make your own or download some free ones, like this one: https://www.shabbyartboutique.com/2014/06/shabby-button-cards.html#comment-16191 I also made this sprig of holly last night -- same idea, but using green felt I freehand cut, and three smaller red buttons: These make great gift tags or stocking stuffers for all your button-loving, crafty friends!  I can't wait to see your button crafts for the holiday season!

Image
It has been a long time since my last post... and here I am again :) I want to show you my new flower brooches. Some of them have some beads in the middle, but some have the lovely buttons: And this one is my favourite:

To read full post, click on title and pictures! I'd love to hear your take on this. I'm currently in the middle of making some more. Just have to get the hot glue gun back out. Will update when finished! EDITED TO ADD: The backing I use is actually acrylic felt!

Fabric covered buttons - how to make them, how to use them...

Image
Hello Button Floozies! I don't know whether you have seen it on my blog or not, but I thought I might share it with you :) Some time ago I fell in love with the fabric covered brads. But I live in Poland and it is still quite difficult to buy some things here, and as I'm impatient and can't wait long I usually have to be creative :) I had some fabric covered buttons, like here: After adding some Prima flowers they looked like this: And I had to try one of them on the card: But I just kept thinking.... and I made some more fabric covered buttons myself! Here they are: I added some fabric or paper flowers, cheesecake cloth, and used stamps! Here are the effects: Want to find out how I did them? I don't have any devices, just fabric, button, thread, needle and scissors. Here is my simple tutorial . Look how nice one of them looks on the layout: They also look pretty great on pony tail holders I did for my niece: They can be used to make rings, broches, badges or bobby pins...

Excuse the bugs..

Hi ladies! (I use 'ladies' because right now, we don't have any male floozies. At least no one who will admit they are men!) ;) I am working out the kinks of the advertisements. At some point Google should send out a 'crawler' (don't ask, I don't know.. sounds creepy though..) to check the blog and use key words to select topic appropriate ads. Until then we have to settle with beer cozies. Sorry! Perhaps someone can do a tutorial on embellishing their hubby's bear cozy with buttons and lace!! I love it!! We can bling the beer thing!! hehehe .. Remember, the ads and the Google Search Bar all rack up pennies for the American Cancer Society. Even with 'beer cozy' ads, we have earned 10 cents so far!! Woohhoooo !! I don't think that's too shabby! A quick little tutorial for you! the above images are of some button hair elastics that I sold in my Etsy shop a while back. (and they did sell!) Take a set of buttons (old or new) with shanks ...

Lovely Button Creations by Minski

Image
Oooohhh ... aren't these just dee - lish ?? Minski was found on Etsy . Otherwise known as Minna, she creates fabulous button necklaces and brooches. Below is a 'cute as a button necklace in Definitely Pink '. Oh, I just adore the pink!! Such a bright wonderful splash for the upcoming summer.. can't you see this on a model wearing a fabulous pink polka dot bikini? Not liking pink so much? (or the thought of bikinis..) Try this little number on.. 'Water Baby' is a little more 'down to earth'. How about a little Italian Summer Time Brooch? Minna says "The colors remind me of the beautiful buildings and oh-so-blue sea and sky in Cinque Terre , Italy, and how hot it was when I was there." Some wonderful colors and a brilliant use of buttons to get your summer juices flowing! Please check out Minna's Etsy shop and peek around, she also has some cute handbags and lovely pin sets.. Have a fabulous weekend!! xoxo ~

I'm so excited!! We have more floozies coming! Yeay ! I can't wait to hear their button stories and see any photos they have. Also, if you could keep in the back of your mind button crafts, perhaps different ways you utilize your stash.. I just wanted to give a peek at few different ways I have burned through my supply. It is always fun to use up what I have, that way I have no excuse to pass up the ever elusive button jar or tin! Above are button icicles.. I'll show you how to make those later.. it is super easy!! Buttons are always a necessary addition to a crafty gift! They look 'oh so glam' when tossed into the mix of paper blooms with a little bit of bling .. The image above and below are courtesy of MarthaStewart .com.. they are just lovely embellishing ribbons.. Thank you for those who have joined, and for all of those 'closet floozies', it is OK. We'll be here waiting when you are ready to come on out!
