I am determined to make me a necklace out of mother of pearl larger size buttons I found a book with simple instructions and then went to Joan's fabrics to get the coated wire they suggest to be used and was shocked to see price of this special thread $15.99 spool. Guess i'm behind times.  I didn't have the fastener I need so guess it's back to Joan's                                                                            I want it with all the large white buttons I just had to show some of my pretty mother of pearl belt loops and I love the older rhinestone buttons. I have more carved mother of pearl whites  I am hoping to attend the Missouri Button Society show at Lake of the Ozarks this spring .I don't want to stay 3 days but would like to know what all is involved in the sho...

If you follow Button Floozies via Google Friend Connect...

via Pinterest I'm posting this as information so that, if you don't have a gmail account and have been following Button Floozies on Google Friend connect, you won't wonder where the blog disappeared to tomorrow! For what it's worth, even though I obviously do have a gmail account, I still use  Bloglovin'  to follow all my favorite blogs and I really like it.  You just type in Button Floozies in the search bar and click Follow This Blog. I hope no one goes away as a result of this really dumb change that Blogger is making.  Anyway, here's that information: (From Blogger:) In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. Years ago I bought these buttons on Ebay.  They were on the original card and their origin was the USA zone of Germany so they can easily be dated to right after WW2 .  They are molded glass with a mirrored backing.  I have tried many times to use them but they always have been too glitzy or too large..  But I have found the perfect home for them and still have a five left. I made  fabric journals of my needlework project with the theme of corsets. As you can see I used my lovely heart buttons to hold the "pages" together. Each of the pages is faced with an ad from that time period..  I'm so gl ad I found a "forever" home for my beautiful old buttons..
