Image
These buttons are from yarnitanddash.com Yarn it and Haberdashery in Columbus Ohio. A great yarn shop but they also carry things you might need for your knitting projects, such as...buttons. I could have gone through and picked out my favorites all day but I had a limited amount of time , and picked these. Aren't they pretty😊

A Visit to the Showroom at The National Button Society Annual Convention in Denver

Image
Yes, the National Button Society held its annual convention this year in Denver, Colorado.  Called Mining in Button Mountains , it was a week of informative workshops and fun, creative project classes, as well as the non-profit organization's annual meeting.  There was a button auction fund raiser, and the judging for button awards.  I wasn't able to attend the convention until Saturday, the last day, when I visited the showroom just so that I could take some photos and share them with you all! Before I even entered the showroom, I was distracted by this child-sized swimming pool FULL of buttons to poke through!  At 20 for $1, they were irresistible.  (I bought 60!) Eventually, I made it into the showroom itself.  The room was full of vendor tables -- they came from near and (mostly) far to sell their buttons. Then, all along the back wall were the displays of button "trays" that had been entered and judged for the annual awards.  There we...

Look what I got in the mail today from a gal who I met once in the 1970's however I knew her Aunt and cousins also from back in the 1970's. I seen her on facebook a couple years ago and we talk She knew I like Buttons and sent me a box of old buttons her mother had and now she sent me a box of vintage buttons from an Aunt of hers where she is cleaning out the Aunt's house. So glad  she thought of me and gave me something to play with today. Love them

Looking in Button Drawers

Image
As I looking in some of my buttons drawers  I noticed I had these heavy metal and  turquoise chip, meaning heavy not like a light weight bakelite button. I'm sure they were made in a special way I also didn't realize I had these pretty little buttons                                                                          I had these larger starburst for lack of correct name for these metal buttons. It still makes me happy to play in my button drawers , what about you?

Missouri Button Show

Image
For the first time I attended the Missouri Button Club show at Lake of The Ozarks in Missouri. I really enjoyed seeing all the different priced buttons. From one dollar for the mother of pearl buttons up to $495 button for one of a kind ceramic button of maybe Marie Antoinette face on it or a King or Lord ? or some past Queen. Of course the $495 dollar buttons were on cards not in a pole box. It was so entertaining to dig through all the poke boxes from $1 up to $10 a button.I found everything I liked in the $3 poke box. I had never noticed this kind of button before, they really caught my eye                                                                 They are like a knot I found them so interesting  I love how they are twisted   I just love the designs  One of the ladies that w...
