I'm soaking up the last of the summer's outdoor markets here in Colorado, and always on the lookout for buttons! Have a safe Labor Day weekend, and, if you are in the affected South, you are all in our thoughts and prayers!

I missed it!

I don't know how I missed Button Week! I kept thinking I was going to do a post on my blog for button week and link to it from here, but kept working on other posts and never got to it. But any day is a good day for a button floozie to look at buttons, right? Here are a few of several of my buttons: I had this out around Valentine's Day, mostly heart-shaped buttons: This is one of my favorite plaques with buttons on it: As is this: I've already shown this button wreath I made: And this ornament: Here are a couple of fabric trees I made: Incidentally, if you want more button pics to drool over, there is a Flickr group for button wreaths, balls, and flowers at: http://www.flickr.com/groups/614169@N23/ and there are more soft trees at http://www.flickr.com/groups/15961496@N00/pool/ Later this week I'll post some things to make with buttons.

Button Wreath~

Nothing like a button wreath to get you in the mood for the upcoming holiday season! I used a styrofoam wreath form which I covered in white felt and then some cheese cloth to give it a little more body. I hot glued all those buttons on one at a time....overlapping them to cover any signs of fabric. It took me five hours and 6 long glue sticks. Here is a close up of the wreath~ I still have two jars left of that color of button *girls got the buttons!!* I've got the wreath hanging from the knobs of an old handmade hutch that I picked up for a whopping $10 bucks from one of our local thrift stores-- the milk glass is also from various thrift stores & yard sales :-) http://cheryl-comfort.blogspot.com/

A new button floozy!
