The first of the White Christmas Button Book Swaps have begun to arrive and they are a feast for the eyes!  I will be sharing them as they are revealed. A picture of a peaceful interlude -- sorting buttons from a thrift shop grab bag. Many were very common, but these are my favorites: above, celluloid in blue and brown, and a chunky black plastic button with inlaid metal. These "cookie" buttons, older plastic. Black glass, aurora borealis glass, and a metal button that I particularly liked. I'm getting emails from participants that their White Christmas Button Books are going out in the mail -- so excited to see and post photos of the results when they are received!

Partnering has happened for the White Christmas Button Book swap and emails went out yesterday to all who signed up; if there were any glitches and you didn't receive yours, please let me know ASAP! Meanwhile...look at the vintage notions I picked up at the last estate sale I visited -- there didn't seem to be any real treasures in the button bags but I had to get them anyway, just for the thrill of the hunt!

I received the loveliest, most precious buttons the other day from my blogging friend, Betsy !  She LOVES buttons, too!  She's the one who made these fabulous button bird earrings that I wear often, and love!  She sells them and many other fabulous things in markets, and in her Etsy shop .  She sent me the buttons as a surprise along with this FABULOUS necklace that I won from her blog giveaway!  You can read about it here .  She also included a scrabble tile charm with my initial on it.  These are the kinds of buttons that make me literally swoon -- and wonder how she can bear to part with them!  Look at that little shoe!  It is DOUBLE sided!  Betsy is as generous as she is talented.  The silver toned one has a shell inset.  The small black and gold one is glass.  And the one near the bottom left is celluloid.
