Need Advice

I have this card of antique La Mode metal buttons with gorgeous purple glass middles. Anyway I am thinking of removing them from their original cards and putting in a glass covered candy jar with other beautiful buttons. Now should I leave them on their card? or do you button collectors think they need to stay on their original cardboard card that has bent edges. Need your advice, thanks from Janice

I struggle with the same thing at times and curious what other will think. My vote is display them the way you will enjoy them!

Maybe you could stand the card up in a jar and put it near light (like in a window) -- I'm sure the buttons will sparkle!

Laurie's idea sounds like a good one, and you'll be able to see the buttons because they won't get lost in with the rest of the buttons you are going to put in the jar.
I'm not a real knowledgeable button collector, but my rule of thumb is: I leave the buttons on the card if the card has a graphic, and take the buttons off if I choose when the card is plain.
Your buttons are beautiful!

I'm not a fan of the paper buttons are mounted on. Unless it really works hard to make the buttons pop, I take them off. I should pay more attention to the value of my collections, but I just pick out what I love. My favorite color is purple, so I have my purple buttons in an old perfume bottle so they sparkle properly. Part of the fun in displaying my buttons is finding the perfect glass jar to highlight my favorites. Thanks for sharing the button love with us! I love knowing there are button crazy people like me.

We have the same struggle! What I did was displaying them in the way you will enjoy them!

Oh I do hope you'll come back and visit my blog and type in buttons in the upper left corner. I'd say leave them on the card.

the card is in poor condition so I would remove them and display the way you want!

Leave them on the card. If they're jostled around in a jar they're likely to be damaged.
