Yarn and BUTTONS!

I saw this tree downtown yesterday:
You will notice it has been "bombed", i.e., given a hand knitted or crochet little jacket, just for fun, by some ambitious needleworkers.
But, these illustrious people stole my heart when they added -- you guessed it -- BUTTONS!

Oh!My!Gosh! A hand-knit tree-cozy with BUTTONS. You say it was "bombed". Is this a Colorado Springs thing??

Thanks for showing us this Laurie, isn't it fantastic.
I once saw some trees wrapped in fabric and that was fascinating. Recently I went to an exhibition in the English Lake District where they had completely covered several park benches in knitting.

Sooo fun. Hmmm, I have a few trees that might need a sweater. Mimi
How cool is that??? Where is this?
Really different!

This is in Colorado Springs, downtown. If you Google "yarn bombing" you can see all kinds of these works on trees, benches -- just about anything!
OMG never have seen anything so great on a city street
I haven't seen anything like this either, Laurie! Very clever! Trees are ' naturally' pretty, but the sweater makes it look dashing!! :)

I noticed in the first photo a sign stating: "ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL BEYOND THIS GATE." Going all out to protect that tree, I guess! Ha ha!
