Black Buttons

Image
Just thought I'd share some buttons and goodies I found last week, in one of my favorite locations... Black buttons are some of my favorites because they go with most everything! This is one of my favorites~it reminds me of one of those fabric ruffly flowers that are so popular right now. I think the package said these were from the '60's. You can read the rest of the story and see more photos here at my blog: andreacreates.blogspot.com

Red Buttons

Image
I am getting some of my buttons ready to take with me for the summer, and these red ones are among those taking the trip.  I have had the diary buttons for quite a long time, and think it is time they were used in a project.  Aren't they cute? Pallas

A new bracelet

Image
Yesterday my friend Robin and I were vendors at Glitterfest in Santa Ana, CA. We were just selling Robin's goodies but remained incredibly busy ALL day! I was finally able to sneak away and look a little and got that cute little bracelets with the buttons- it is named candy store. My friend Lisa traded me the earrings for a bag of dolls... I am the lucky one in this case...I love my new jewelry!

That Vintage Flair...

Image
I was playing in my button boxes yesterday and decided to take a few photos of some of my favorites. I'll be sharing them with you over the next week. I don't know much about the buttons I've collected over the years...which might be Bakelite, or some exotic material. I can identify mother of pearl or bone or shell, but I know what speaks to me. I love the unique shapes, a flash of detail, but mostly, that flair that tells me it's "vintage". Of all the buttons I own - and there are many - the old ones will steal my attention away from the new ones any day. I'll visit again soon and share more of my favorites. In the meantime, you can see what I'm creating in my studio by visiting my blog . Don't be shy. Be sure to say "hi" when you stop in. I love visitors at Brynwood!

Which Buttons?

Image
Ok Button Floozies.....which buttons should I put on this jacket that I have customised? I originally made the jacket to show off the small buttons, but then I made the chunky ones, and now I'm in a world of indecision. Which do you prefer, small or chunky? http://www.mcanaraks.com/

I have been embellishing my latest crop of pillows I made from vintage and antique fabrics with some of my pretty buttons, too.   More photos are on my blog ! Please come and visit!
