Tiny White Buttons

Is it just me, or do those tiny white buttons just multiply like crazy in your collections, too? I really do like them, but they always outnumber the larger, more unusual buttons in any bags or jars I buy.

That's why I was excited about putting a good number of them to use in this mosaic birdhouse. It was gratifying!

It feels very wrong to throw a button out, even a tiny white one. Any other ideas on how to use these little puppies up before they take over completely?!

I have an idea! Get a big plain canvas, paint it any colour (I like charcoal for white buttons) and then once the paint's dry, glue small white buttons in an interesting pattern. I love the idea of a "wave" effect, leaving almost half of the board clear. Hang it in your lounge room and when people say "That's nice" you can proudly say "I made it!"

So CLEVER!! Thank you for sharing this WONDERFUL idea for tiny buttons! Hope you have a GREAT day! :D
Love the bird house! I personally never throw any buttons out. At Christmas there was a super cute idea for all white buttons Glues on cardboard and made into a wreath. Make a button tree.

This is one of the cutest button bracelets I've seen, it is on my "fun things to do" list. Wearing button's is as much fun as collecting them.

Wow ... this is a the cutest birdhouse I have ever seen. I like it so much. Such a wonderful idea.
A few years ago, I got completely carried away with finding and saving vintage buttons of all kinds. Then, when they started to be more of a bother than a fun-filled hobby, I went through and kept only the ones that struck my fancy. I had many white buttons along with others that I put into a garage sale. A group of folks who help with activities for students with disabilities came by and bought a few. Because it was such a good cause, I told them to take all the rest. They were overjoyed and I had peace in finding a good home for my sweet buttons!
I love, love, love this! I must try this one day.

What a fabulous, magical birdhouse - and thankyou so much for visiting my Journaling Blog (I don't know where else to say thankyou). Do leave me a message and I will respond. By the way, I have boxes and boxes of buttons and the ones I love best are the tiny white ones, and those I cut off my husbands old shirts. Thankyou for inspiring me today. Ann
